I came across this passage the other night: “Sometimes it may be that while we are complaining of the hardness of the hearts of those we are seeking to benefit, the hardness of our own hearts and our own feeble apprehension of the solemn reality of eternal things may be the true cause of our want of success” (180).
Its easier to focus on how hard-hearted the lost are than to humbly confess that my actions show that I am the one with a hard heart.

Well, actually, I spent the last 15 years getting ready. Be that as it may, I am thankful for the Lord’s grace in my life to save me, keep me, teach me, and call me to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.

I met with 8 other men this past Saturday (June 26) to discuss my beliefs. I’m grateful for the time the men spent reading my doctrinal statement and for the thoughtful questions they asked. God blessed our time by making it a blessing all around.

Our church held a special service the next day (Sunday, June 27) to officially set me apart to do the work of the ministry. It was a special time for me and the church. I’m grateful for Cleveland Park’s support and active part in our mission-I’d feel lost without it.

I’m also grateful to the Lord for the technology that allowed Tim Bixby, my coworker, to preach in the afternoon service. It was a joy to see him again and to hear once again his ability to clearly communicate God’s Word. I look forward to joining him soon.

God’s goodness in my life is manifested everyday, but some days I can see his grace better than others. My ordination day was like that. I’m grateful for God’s loyal love to me. Council Tim Preaching The Questioning

Though it is only there due to the longstanding Catholic tradition, and few if any celebrate the day according for its historical significance, it is still a nationwide day off of school and work. The Eglise Baptiste de Pessac has had a longstanding tradition of spending the day together on at outing at the park of Bombannes, about an hour out of Bordeaux. We had a wonderful day together, enjoying fellowship as a church family.
